Prototype 1.5 launches, gets new website

Prototype, probably the most well-known of the top Javascript libraries, has reached version 1.5 and launched a new website featuring full API documentation. This is great news for Prototype/RoR developers, as the lack of formal documentation was often a complaint of those coming to the library for the first time.

If you are using Prototype, you should also check out the Prototype cheat sheet by Digital Web's own Jonathan Snook, which comes in a handy 'desktop wallpaper' size for quick reference.

Prototype's XHR still sucks and won't wok without modifications of the sources (line 916 - 917). The problem came up first time with rc_2 and is still present.

I think maybe a little more detail is needed before we might agree with your "sucks" assessment. What is the problem? What code modifications are needed to fix the lines you specified? (also are those Final or RC2 line numbers?)
