Dirk Knemeyer seems to be writing a lot these days. Most recently is an article he wrote on Web development and business goals. Starting the article out with saying "There is no one-size-fits-all 'best practices' for web development." A very good point hear. As somone who worked in a web development shop that tried to adopt the RUP model, I can safely say that it doesn't work as-is for everyone, especially if you plan to include creative solutions and practices into the model.
